Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Brunei sent female athletes for the first time. these were the first Olympics in which every nation sent female athletes. Women's boxing was included for the first time, marking the first time evert sport had at least one female participant. these games were the last under Jacques Rogge. the next summer Olympics will be Thomas Bach's first summer ones. Usain Bolt won the 100m, 200m and 4X100m for the second straight games. the 100m was a world record of 9.63s. eep.
