Rowing to three olympic spots

The Canadian women rowed to three spots the last 24 hours. Yesterday Hillary Janssens and Caileigh Filmer qualified a pairs team. Today Andrea Proske and Gabrielle Smith qualified a double skulls team and Carling Zeeman qualified a single skulls boat. That should be around 80 athletes representing Canada in 2020.

Canoeing to an Olympic spot

Katie Vincent claimed an Olympic spot in the C1 200m event with a 5th place finish at the Canoe Sprint World Championships. That has 80 athletes qualified for the Olympics in 14 sports.

Sport climbing to an Olympic spot

Sean McColl qualified for the Olympics in sport climbing. A brand new sport that combines three disciplines - speed, lead and bouldering. Neat.

Fall like today

Sheesh it felt like fall today. It was windy and cloudy today. Don't think it got higher than 15c today. Leaves are already turning color. It evened rained today. Went from sweating two days ago to almost freezing today. Eeep.

4 more to cap it off

2 golds and 2 bronze to finish the Pan American games. They finish up with 35g, 64s and 53b for 152 total. Ellie Black will be carrying the Canadian flag at the closing ceremonies. That should be fun.

17 more

2g, 10s, and 5b for 17 medals today including a Canadian record in the steeplechase and a personal best in the 800m. The overall total has 33g, 64s, and 51b for 148 total. That is Canada's 5th best total at a Pan American games. Just tomorrow left and that's it.

Another olympic ticket punched

This one in sailing. The men's 49er team qualified for the Olympics earlier. Olympic team is filling up nicely.

A boat load of medals

18 of them today. 5g, 8s, and 5b today. Swept the podium in there somewhere. Canada now has 31g, 54s, and 46b for 131 total. Yiye. 2 days to go. Gonna get fun.

Women's water polo going to the Olympics

With Canada beating Brazil in one semi final and the U.S beating Cuba 31-7 in the other, Canada will have a water polo team in Tokyo next year. Awesome for the ladies. They will get either gold ot silver tomorrow.

They all seem to come in 9s. A gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze today bringing the total to 113 medals - 26g, 46s and 41b. 3 days left.

More medals

A gold, a silver and 5 bronze today, bringing the total to 25g, 41s and 38b for 104 total. 4 days left in this. Time to finish this.

Another olympic spot

The equestrian team claimed an Olympic spot in team jumping. Nice. I think the equestrian team has two spots maybe three now. Olympic team is filling out nicely.

A good day 11. 1g, 2s and 6b for 9 medals today. That brings the total to 24g, 40s, and 33b for 97 total. Hopefully more tomorrow. That's it for now.

9 more medals

Day 10 produced 9 more medals - 4g, 2s and 3b. That now brings the total to 23g, 38s, and 27b for 88 total. Quite a ways from the most they had. 6 days left - who knows.

Day 9 update

Yesterday was day 9 and Canada had a good day. They picked up 2g, 5s, and 5b for 12 medals. Great. They now have 19g, 36s, and 24b for 79 medals. day 10 today. One week to go. Stay tuned for more.

A trio tonight

3 more medals today. I think two of them in diving. 1g and 2s today. That brings the total to 17g, 31s and 19b for 67 total. That's it for day 8.

10 medals on my birthday

Happy birthday to me. Canada takes home another ten medals. 4g, 5s and 1b. All the golds and 3 of the silvers came in badminton. I guess we're good in badminton. We now have 16g, 29s and 19b for 64 medals. Pretty good first week of the pan American games.

A gold and two silvers today. One from cycling - that being a silver. That brings the total to 12g, 24s and 18b for 54 medals. Pretty good for 6 days. Day 7 tomorrow. Stay tuned for more.
