end of september already? yikes wow september flew by already. lots of baseball, football, preseason hockey and loads of leaves falling. the yankees, red sox, angels, phillies, and cardinals are in postseason baseball already and the dodgers have a chance to join them tonight. the chase for the championship began and mark martin leads jimmie johnson by 10 points after two races so far. the nfl season began and monday night football began its 40th season and the origianl AFL teams are celebrating its 50th season this year. cant wait for october to begin. lots of playoff baseball, the cfl and nfl continues, and more nascar racing. and lots of leaves to rake.
monday night musings with monday night football on and the final week of baseball going, heres what's going on. 1. fall officialy showed up over the weekend. freaking cold mornings can and will wake you up guaranteed. plus the wind can blow you over - assuming youre not in the dark ages (the wind was strong enough to knock out power. luckily not near me). 2. the yankees won the a.l. est divsion and the st louis cardinals won the n.l. central title. more spots coming. 3. jimmie johnson won the AAA 400 in dover yesterday. he trails mark martin by 10 points (martin finished 2nd) next race is in kansas and the price chopper 400 (i dont make up the names) on october 4th. 4. the hockey season is on the doorstep wanting in. makes for a good october alreay. that is almost here too
sunday night massacre in a good fun way right now im watching the cowboys and the giants at the cowboys home opener in their new stadium. right now the giants lead 20-17 in the htird quarter. earlier mark martin wins his fifth race of the year and first in the chase for the championship by winning the sylvania 300 in new hampshire. 3 time champ jimmie johnson finished 4th and is second in the points tied with denny hamlin. 1 down 9 to go. next race in dover deleware and the AAA 400 in one week.
it's monday night football its opening night of the 40th season of monday night football featuring two games involving four of the eight original AFL team. first up - the buffalo bills at the new england patriots in their original uniforms. at 8:15 its the san diego chargers at the oakland raiders in their origianl uniforms. on the 40th season of mnf begins the 50th season of the original afl teams. update: new england 25 buffalo 24. oakland currently leads san diego 7-0 after one quarter
chevy rock and roll 400 on his home track, deny hamlin dominates and wins the chevy rock and roll 400 on the last race to the chase in richmond virginia. brian vickers beat out kyle busch for the last spot by 8 points. along with vickers, hamlin, jimmie johnson, jeff gordon and tony stewart, mark martin, kurt busch, ryan newman, kasey kahne, juan montoya, carl edwards and greg biffle are in the chase. race one of ten begins on the 20th in new hampshire
labor day fun, including a couple of "classics" its labor day and it means a couple of labor day classic games in hamilton and calgary. at 2pm its the toronto argonauts and hamilton tiger-cats and at 5:30 its the edmonton eskimos and calgary stampeders.. saskatchewan beat winnipeg yesterday and b.c. beat montreal on friday. all these teams play this weekend in the second half of the home and home series. on top of the cfl, theres loads of day games in baseball, including the first game of a day/night doubleheader between the rays and yankees.
pep boys auto 500 great race and great finish. kasey kahne wins in atlanta after passing kevin harvick on the last restart of the race. harvick finished second. denny hamlin joins tony stewart, jeff gordon and jimmie johnson for the chace to the championship. the last race for the chase is saturday night in richmond and the chevy rock and roll 400. six spots left. who will be in? tune in saturday night.
