Royals a win away

the Royals are a win away from the world series after winning game 4 5-3. Michael Comforta helped put the Mets up 3-1 with two homers. the Royals got one back in the 6th, then put three in the 8th inning, aided by a Daniel Murphy error and a Mike Moustakas rbi base hit to put the Royals up for good. Ryan Madson got the win for the Royals, Tyler Clippard with the loss and Wade Davis with a two inning save, helped by a huge double play to end the game where the Royals third baseman caught a broken bat liner. the runner on first got caught halfway to second when the ball was caught was thrown out at first to end it. the Royals are up 3-1 in the series and can win it tomorrow night in New York.

Mets get on board

the Mets get their first win of the series with a convincing 9-3 win in New York. Curtis Granderson and David Wright each had a two run home run. Wright also had a 2 run base hit. Wright became the first met to score four rbi's in a world series game since Rusty Staub got five in the 1973 series against Oakland. Noah Syndergaard struggled the first two innings, then settled down and owned the Royals. he eventually got the win. Yorlando Ventura took the loss. Royals lead series 2-1. game four in New York tomorrow night.

Royals go up a pair

Alcides Escobar hit an rbi single and Eric Hosmer hit a two run single in a four run fifth as the Royals win game two 7-1. Johnny Cueto picked up the win and Jacob DeGrom took the loss. the Royals look to go three up on Friday night as the series shifts to New York for game three.

Royals win lengthy game one

the Royals take the opening game of the world series with a 5-4 win in 14 innings. the longest game one in world series history in innings (14) and in time (5h 9m). game one of the 2000 series won by the Yankees over the Mets was the previous longest with 12 innings. Alcides Escobar opened the game with an inside the park home run on the first pitch. last inside the park homer on the first at bat was 1929 when George "Mule" Haas did it. Curtis Granderson of the Mets had the go ahead homer in the 5th, but Alex Gordon tied it in the 9th. the Royals had two chances in the 12th and 13th. the loaded the bases and Eric Hosmer won it with a sac fly to right. Chris Young got the win while Bartolo Colon took the loss. game two is in Kansas City tomorrow night.

the Royals are going to their second straight world series after beating the Jays 4-3 in game six and the series four games to two. Eric Hosmer drove in Lorenzo Cain on a base hit for the winning run in the eighth inning. Wade Davis picked up the series clinching win while Roberto Osuna took the loss. the Royals will face the Mets in the world series starting on the 27th

Mets world series bound

the New York Mets are heading for the world series after beating the Cubs 8-3 in game four and sweeping the series four straight. Daniel Murphy hit a home run in a record seting sixth straight game. Lucas Duda hit a three run homer in the first and was responsible for driving in five of the first six games. it's the Mets first world series trip since 2000 when they lost to the Yankees in five games that year (the subway series). Bartolo Colon picked up the series clinching win, while Jason Hammel took the loss. they will face the Jays or Royals starting on the 27th. congrats to the Mets.

the Jays force a game six after winning game 5 7-1. troy tulowitzki hit a key 3 run double in the sixth to blow it open. Marco Estrada earned the win while Edinson Volquez took the loss. game six is Friday in Kansas City.

the Mets are a win away from the world series after winning game three 5-2 and now up three games to none series lead. Daniel Murphy has now hit a home run in five straight games. Jacob DeGrom with the win, Trevor Cahill with the loss and Jeurys Familia with the save. game 4 is tomorrow night in Chicago.

Royals in a rout in game 4

the Royals scored early and in bunches as they cruise to a 14-2 win in game 4 in Toronto. 4 in the first and 7th and three in the 8th did most of the damage. R.A.Dickey took the loss while Luke Hochevan picked up the win. the Royals can wrap up the series in Toronto tomorrow afternoon.

the Jays got to Johnny Cueto early and often in the first three innings. the Royals made a game of it in the 9th. all in all, the Jays win 11-8 in game three. Troy Tulowitzki, Josh Donaldson and Ryan Goins homered. Marcus Stroman got the win and Johnny Cueto took the loss. Royals are up 2 games to one. game 4 is tomorrow in Toronto.

Kansas City crowns Houston, faces Toronto in ALCS

the Royals will be facing the Blue Jays after beating the Astros convincingly 7-2 in game five. Johnny Cueto got the wi and Collin McHugh took the loss. game one is Friday in Kansas City.

Jays fly into ALCS,

this game will be rememberd for the 7th inning. with the score tied at two in the top of 7, Shin Soo-Choo batting, Russell Martin, threw the ball back to the pitcher, but in doing so the ball hit Shin's bat, making the ball live. the runner on third on a heads up play ran home to score after the home plate ump waved the play dead. it went to review and the run counted. (any ball that hits the bat is considered live) the Jasy manager played the rest of the game under protest. now the bottom of the 7th. three straight Texas defensive errors, a bloop single and Jose Bautista's three run homer ended the insanity. the 7th ended Jays 6 Rangers 3. and that is how game five ended. the Jays await the winner of the Astros vs Royals game. that game will decide the ALCS. Aaron Sanchez got the win, Cole Hamels took the loss and Roberto Osuna got the save. game one of the ALCS is Friday.

the Dodgers have forced a game five after a 3-1 win in New York. Clayton Kershaw pitches 7 innings for the win. Steven Matz picked up the loss and Kenley Jansen got the save. game 5 is Thursday in Los Angeles.

Cubs prowl to NLCS

three home runs was enough for the Cubs to beat the Cardinals 6-4 to win game 4 and the series 3-1 and will go to the NLCS against the Mets or Dodgers. it is the first time that Wrigley Field has had a Cubs series clinching win. Trevor Cahill got the win, Kevin Siegrist got the loss and Hector Rondon with the save. the Cubs will start the NLCS on the road.

the Mets are one win away after winning a slugfest 13-7. Yeonis Cespedes hit a three run homer that ended up in the second deck at Citi Field. Matt Harvey was the winning pitcher, while Brett Anderson picked up the loss. the Mets lead the series 2-1. game four is tomorrow in New York.

the Cubs are a win away from the NLCS after hanging on to beat the Cardinals 8-6. Jake arrieta picked up the win, and Michael Wacha got the loss. game four is in Chicago tomorrow.

the St.Louis Cardinals take the first game of their NLDS series 4-0 over the Chicago Cubs. Jim Lackey got the win, pitching 7.1 innings of two hit ball. three runs in the 8th blew it open. Jon Lester got the loss. game two is tomorrow in St.Louis.

Kansas City was at one point trailing 4-2. they score two to tie it in the 6th and Ben Zobrist scored an rbi single to put the Royals ahead for good as the Royals beat the Astros 5-4 to even the series at one. Kelvin Herrera got the win, Will Harris got the loss and Wade Davis got the save to close out the game. Game three is in Houston on Sunday.

Rangers take extras effort in win

this was a pretty decent game, but the Rangers beat the Blue Jays 6-4 in 14 innings. Hanser Alberto's base hit scored the go ahead run and got a review go their way. Keone Kela got the win, LaTroy Hawkings took the loss and Ross Ohlendorf picked up the save. game 3 is in Alrington Texas on Sunday.

Colby Springer and Colby Rasmus provided the offense for Houston, while Kendrys Morales scored both run via the home run. first Royals multi homer game since 1985 when George Brett did it. Rangers claim a.l. west. post season matchups set

the Texas Rangers are A.L. West champs after beating the L.A. Angels 9-2 and at the same time eliminating the Angels and putting the Houston Astros. the Astros lost to the Arizona Diamondback, thus sending them to Yankee Stadium to play the Yankees in the wild card game on the 6th. the winner will face the Kansas City Royals in one ALDS series, while the Rangers will face the Toronto Blue Jays, starting in Toronto. both those series start on the 8th. meanwhile in the National League, the matchups are already set. the Pittsburgh Pirates will face the Chicago Cubs in the National League wild card on the 7th in Pittsburgh. the winner will go to St.Louis for one NLDS series matchup starting on the 9th. the Mets and Dodgers also start on the 9th with the series starting in Los Angeles. the post season is here.
