the final day of the nhl regular season is in the books, and after 1230 games, 16 teams in the playoffs. this year the playoff format is almost reminiscint of the 1980s format. the difference is this year the top three in each division get in and two wild card teams in each conference. the division winners get the wild card teams. division playoffs still apply. in the metropolitan division, pittsburgh faces columbus and philadelphia plays the new york rangers. in the atlantic, boston faces detroit and tampa bay squares off with montreal. out west, in the pacific, anaheim plays dallas and san jose plays los angeles. in the central it is colorado vs minnesota while st. louis faces chicago. these division semi final match-ups should be good. playoffs start on wednesday night.

the conneticut huskies are 2014 ncaa tournament champions with a 60-54 win over the kentucky wild cats. i think it was quite a very good and entertaining game. it is their 4th title, in their 4th title game and their 5th final four. they are the lowest seed, at #7 to win a championship since villanova, who was an 8th seed in 1985 when they beat georgetown. congrats to the conneticut huskies.

i just realized i have been doing this blog for 10 YEARS. holy crap. my how time has flown. i have had put nearly everything on here from sports to odd things - like how to lose several pounds on a sheep by shaving all the wool off. that story april from 2004. also anything from mass snow storms to pleasant evenings to anything sports related. and a few pictures. here is to 10 more years. and may posts.
the conneticut huskies are in the championship game with a rather convincing 63-53 win over the florida gators. they were down 16-4 and was not getting anything going. then two quick three pointers turned it around and played excellent baskeball. conneticut will either face wisconsin or kentucy for the championship. wisconsin/kentucky will be coming up in about 25 to 30 minutes.
