a sinking anniversary and a baseball anniversary

today marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the titanic.  1500 plus people died in the tragedy after hitting an iceberg.

today is also marking the 65th anniversary of jackie robinson's debut with the brooklyn dodgers breaking the color barrier in baseball.
