The games are officially under way

 The cauldron has been lit. Speeches have been made. The parade of nations was smaller.  Performances were pretty good. Naomi Osaka lit the cauldron, which is pretty unique looking.  Miranda Ayim and Nathan Hirayama led 30 of the 370 Canadians in the parade of nations. 206 nations in the parade.  Action resumes tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow. 16 days of excitement, heartache, records and medals coming up. As Devin Heroux would say - buckle up.
