first wild card game known as "infield fly rule" game

the st. louis cardinals beat the atlanta braves 6-3 in the first wild card playff game amidst a LATE infield fly rule call.  the infield fly rule is when there are two or three runners on base with less than two out and there is a pop up in the infield.  in this case the pop up ended up into the outfield and the st.louis left fielder and shortstop going for the ball when the short stop thought he heard the left fielder call for it.  just before the ball hit the ground in left, the left field ump  stuck his arm in the air to call infield fly.  instead of the bases loaded the batter was out and there were runners on second and third.  atlanta manager freddy gonzales protested the call and the game. (he can call one in situations like this one).  st.louis now faces washington and atlanta is done.
