carolina won game one 5-4. rod brind'amour got the game winner after ty conklin and jason smith got mixed up with the puck and brind'amour got the puck and put it in the open net. quite the exciting game though. game 2 is wednesday.

update: dwayne roloson may miss the rest of the series with an undetermined injury after marc-andre bergeron knocked andrew ladd into roloson.
