opening day of world hockey championships

two games don and two beginning.  the U.S. beat Canada in a shootout 5-4 (something about Canada and shootouts that don't get along for some reason) and Russia beat France 7-0.  on now has Sweden vs Belarus and Germany taking on host Denmark.  updates on those games in a couple of hours.

Update:  Sweden 5 Belarus 0,  Denmark 3 Germany 2 in a shootout.  Party in Denmark tonight.  Canada plays again Sunday against South Korea.
