giants clip cardinals wings on way to world series

travis ishikawa's three run homer in the bottom of the ninth has just put the san francisco giants into the world series with a 6-3 win in game 5 and the series four games to one over the st. louis cardinals. it is the first time an n.l.c.s. has ended on a home run (the a.l.c.s had it in 1976 when chris chambliss put the yankees into the world series over the royals). it is san francisco's third trip to the series in five years. this after the giants tied it in the 8th with michael morse hitting a solo homer. the giants will face the kansas city royals in the world series starting tuesday in kansas city.
