jimmie johnson wins in phoenix, closer to history

jimmie johnson won his 7th race in phoenix by beating out kurt busch by a couple of car lengths. the win plus carl edwards finishing fourth moves johnson 141 points ahead of edwards. with the finale in homestead on sunday, johnson needs to finish 36th or better to win the championship. if he does he will be the first driver since cale yarborough in the late '70s to win three championships in a row.
