 Now Germany has unveiled their hockey uniforms for the men's and women's teams. I like them. What do you think?

World Juniors news

  Edmonton and Red Deer will be hosting the 2027 tournament , Finland in 2028, and Quebec and Trois Riviers in 2029. Upcoming tournament is in Minneapolis and St Paul Minnesota . 

Wheelchair curling

 The following athletes will be representing Canada at the Paralympics. They are: Ina Forrest, Mark Ideson, Collinda Joseph, Jon Thurston and Gil Dash.  Good luck in Italy.

 Panama, Curacao and Haiti have qualified for the world cup. We now have 42 in and 6 left. Those six will have their last chance to qualify at the end of March. That's when qualifying will end.

5 more in.

 Five more into the world cup. They are Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Scotland. That is now 39 teams, with three more from North America tonight. Stay tuned.

Some German and Dutch flavor

 Germany and Netherlands are into the world cup, winning their respective groups. The German part of me is happy. 34 teams are now in and 14 left. 8 will qualify tomorrow to round out the window.  Stay tuned. 

112th Grey Cup

 Wow that sure got interesting late. Saskatchewan had control most of the game and hung on to win 25-17 to win their 5th Grey Cup. Goal line stand with less than 3 minutes left was the difference. Congratulations to Saskatchewan.

And Norway appears.

 We can add Norway heading for the world cup. They also finished first in their group after beating Italy.  Norway is now team 32 to qualify. More tomorrow.

Portugal turn

 Portugal has qualified for the world cup, winning their group.  31 in, 17 left. Stay tuned for more.

Now it's Croatia

 Croatia won their group and has qualified for the 2026 world Cup. 4 days left to the end of this window. 30 teams in, who is next?

 That s season had 21 teams and an 80 game schedule. Highlights include: 1: June 18 1987, Chicago signs Ed Belfour. 2. November 28, Edmonton trades Paul Coffey for Craig Simpson. 3. March 7, Calgary trades Brett Hill to St Louis. 4. March 26, Edmonton trades Andy Moog to Boston for Bill Ranford and Geoff Courtnall. 5. March 30, Grant Fuhr plays in 74th game, breaking Bernie Parent's record of 73. Fuhr finishes season with 75. 6. December 8, Ron Hextall scores a goal. 7. May 24, power goes out at Boston Garden, causing suspension of game 4 of the Stanley Cup final.  Two nights later, Edmonton finishes sweep of finals. France is in

 France has qualified for the world cup, finishing first in their group. 29 of 48 teams are now qualified.

Western final

 Another last second finish. This one a Saskatchewan touchdown to give them a 24-21:win over BC. They will play Montreal for the 112th Grey Cup - in Winnipeg. The game will be on the 16th. 5pm Prince Albert time.

Eastern final

 The Montreal Alouettes are going to the 112th Grey Cup after beating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 19-16. They will face either the BC Lions or Saskatchewan Roughriders for the Grey Cup. The Western final is on now.

Who knew

 On this date in 1970, Aerosmith played its first gig. At a high school. Not sure if they're still performing now. There's your tidbit of the day.

CFL West semi

 BC hung onto this one and beat Calgary 33-30. BC will head for Regina to play Saskatchewan next Saturday afternoon, while Montreal at Hamilton will be next Saturday morning. 

CFL East semi

 Montreal pulls this one out, beating Winnipeg 42-33. Montreal goes to Hamilton next Saturday for the east final. On now has Calgary at BC in the west semi.
