is it the end of october already? damn its halloween. time to torment - i mean hand out candy - to the trick or treaters. im not doing much tonight. my first halloween off in awhile and im making it a quiet one. im watching hook with robin williams in it. i dont know what i'll watch tonight. where did october go? well, boston won the world series, jimmie johnson and jeff gordon owned october winning two races each and will duke it out for the championship,hockey started and football in full swing. november will bring a grey cup champion, a nascar champion,more hockey and more nfl football. now its time to torment some kids. mmmuuaahhh

red sox world champions the red sox are world champions with a 4-3 win and a four game sweep. a very good and well pitched game by both starters. jon lester got the win and jonathan papelbon gets the save. mike lowell won the mvp award and got a chevy malibu as a result. so another season done, and next game is spring 2008.

pep boys auto 500 jimmie johnson wins his second straight race in a green-white checker finish that ended after jamie mcmurray and dale earnhard jr got together and crashed. jeff gordon finished 7th, and his lead on johnson is now 14 pts. with 3 races left its beginning to look like a two driver finish. but things can happen in the three races.

world series game 3 boston won game 3 tonight 10-5. boston almost blew this game after going up 6-0. colorado scored 2 in the 6th and 3 in the 7th before boston put 3 in the 8th and one in the 9th to end it. jacoby ellsbury and distin pedroya went 7 for 10 in the game making the first time two rookies had at least 3 hits in a world series game (ellsbury with 4 and pedroya with 3) boston is now up 3 games and can win it all tomorrow night in colorado.

world series game 2 boston wins game 2 2-1 with curt schilling, hideki okajima and jonathon papelbon pitching a five hit game. it was a great pichers game tonight. game 3 goes saturday night in denver, colorado.

world series game 1 boston slaughtered colorado 13-1 setting a few records in the process, like most extra base hits in a world series game. dustin pedroya was the first rookie to lead off a world series game to hit a home run. josh beckett pitched 8 innings and struck out 9 colorado batters. game 2 is tomorrow night in boston.

a.l.c.s. game 7 the boston red sox are going to the world series with a 11-2 win over cleveland and will start at home against colorado on wednesdat night. it was pretty close till the red sox poured it on in the late innings. congrats to boston.

subway 500 jimmie johnson won this one. sadly the tape wouldnt go so i couldnt watch it (i think the tape is dead). from what i read it was a rough race. jeff gordon finished 3rd and still leads the points by 53. 4 races left and i think it will come to the last race.

a.l.c.s. game 6 boston slaughters cleveland 12-2 behind a 3 for 5 night by j.d. drew, who hit a grand slam to start the offense, and added a rbi base hit in the third in a 6 run rally. fausto carmona of cleveland pitched the first two innings and a few batters in the third in the loss. there will be a game 7 tomorrow in boston. winner will play colorado in the world series starting wednesday.

a.l.c.s. game 5 boston lives another day as they beat cleveland 7-1 josh beckett piched 8 innings of 5 hit ball and got 11 strikeouts. jonathon papelbon pitched the 9th. game 6 in boston saturday night.

a.l.c.s. game 4 the indians go up 3 games to 1 with a 7-3 win over the red sox. 7 runs in the 5th capped off with a jhonny peralta 3 run homer. the red sox made l.c.s. history when they hit back-to-back-toback home runs (kevin youkilis, david ortiz and manny ramirez hit the homers). the indians can wrap it up thursday at home.

a l.c.s doubleheader the indians beat the red sox 4-2 in game three of the alcs. theyre up 2-1. game four tomorrow. meanwhile the rockies and diamondback just started game 4 of that series. colorado can wrap it up tonight. update: colorado 6 arizona 4. colorado wins n.l.c.s in four games and will make first trip to world series in team history.

nlcs game 3 the colorado rockies are one game from the world series as the beat the arizona diamondbacks 4-1. colorado can win it tomorrow night at home.

alcs game 2 cleveland ended a long 11 inning game 13-6 with 7 runs in the top of 11th. game went over 5 hours and both starters didnt get past the fifth inning. series is tied at one and game three is monday in cleveland.

bank of america 500 what a finish! after restarting with five to go afrer a red flag, ryan newman takes the lead from jeff gordon and as hes pulling away, he crashes, setting up a green white checkered finish. jeff gordon and kyle busch think theyre out of gas. jemmie johnson in the meantine comes in to get gas. then the race gets restarted and jeff gordon hangs on (i have no idea how) and wins in charlotte. he leads jimmie johnson by 73 points. if the remainder of the season is like tonight, this will be a helluva finish to the season.

front yard massacre with a side of baseball got the front yard raked and the leaves bagged over the last couple of days. could of used some big bags cause it took 12 normal garbage bags to get the front yard. while im doing this, the red sox and indians start playing game one of the a.l.c.s. and boston is up 10-2 in the bottom of 6. last night coloroado won game one 5-1 over arizona to begin the n.l.c.s. they begin game 2 at 8pm. update on both games a little later. update: boston 10 cleveland 3. boston hitters knoced out c.c. sabbathia in the fith and eric gagne made things interesting by loading the bases with two out before striking out the last cleveland batter update 2: colorado 3 arizona 2 in 11 innings. colorado up 2 games

cleveland moves on the indians knocked out the yankees last night 6-4 and will start in boston on friday whil colorado will start in arizona on thursday. the hunt in october continues

uaw ford 500 what a finish. jeff gordon pulls out a big win by just beating out jimmie johnson. a pretty exciting finish. gordon retakes the point lead over jimmie johnson. tony stewart went from 3rd to 8th. i still dont know how jeff pulled out the win, but he did it. quite a finish.

angels gone, yankees could be gone and phillies gone last night last night, the rockies eliminated the phillies and will play arizona in the nlcs. this afternoon the red sox beat the angels 9-1 and is in the alcs. they will play either cleveland or new york. cleveland could move on tonight. update: yankees 8 indians 4. yankees live on another day. game 4 tomorrow

boston wins late last night, arizona sweeps and colorado/philly scoreless last night, manny ramirez put boston ahead two games to nothingwith a three run shot in the bottom of the ninth to give boston a 6-3 win. tonight, arizona put the brooms to the cubs beating them 5-1, winning the series 3-0 and going to the national league championship series againts either colorado or philadelphia. right not they are scoreless in the 4th.

indians win, boston and anaheim in the second travis hafner hit a bases loaded single that scored kenny lofton and the indians win 2-1 in 11 innings. indians had lots of chances to score but couldnt get the big play until now. in the meantime the redsox lead the angels 2-1 in the second.

mlb playoffs day 2 colorado beat philadelphia 10-5 to go up 2-0 in the series. and i find the yankees and indians arent televised tonight. colorado has been on a roll which goes back to the regular season. theyve won 16 of the last 18 now. updates on the yankees/indians and the cubs/diamondbacks later. update: cleveland 12 new york 3. all cleveland tonight. they lead 1-0

mlb postseason begins + nhl regular season into full swing the mlb postseason began with colorado beating philadelphia 4-2. next up the angels and red sox, followed by chicago at arizona. while the playoffs start there, the nhl season resumes tonight with four games after anaheim and los angeles began in london over the weekend by splitting the 2 games. more ball updates later. update: boston 4 anaheim 0. josh beckett pitches complete game four hit shutout. boston leads series 1-0. update 2: arizona 3 chicago1. 2 runs in seventh does it for arizona. arizona leads series 1-0.

a dull evening wow no games tonight. an easy evening there. after colorado beat san diego last night, an extra day would help. the rockies start in philly. with the baseball playoffs there and the nhl season on the doorstep, october will be good. plus football on both sides of the border and the chase for the championship in nascar. all the reasons why i love october.
