cracker cats last night went to another cats game and this one was a slugfest. edmonton won 16-9 over the joliet jackhammers and both teams had four errors. there were fireworks after the game to commemorate 100 years of baseball in edmonton. the first game was may 29 1907 with the edmonton legislators leading the calgary chinooks 8-7 when the game was called due to darkness in the 9th inning. so a free history lesson

indianapolis 500 dario franchitti has just won the indianapolis 500 after it started pouring. there was a rain delay earlier on lap 113. they resumed and the rain ended on lap 166. got his jug of milk and a likeness of hif face will go on the borg-warner trophy. now off to charloote and the coca cola 600.

cracker-cats home opener went to the cats home opener last night. they lost to the gary southshore railcats 5-4. wasnt a bad game considering there were 5 errors (3 for gary and 2 for edmonton). oh yeah and 4 broken bats. it got a little windy too which made things chilly in a hurry. next game tonight, and im planning to go to tuesdays game against the joliet jackhammers. more on that later

cavaliers cut nets out the cavaliers will face the pistons in the eastern finals with a 88-72 win over the new jersey nets. the series with detroit, i believe, start on the 23rd. update: san antonio knocked out phoenix with a 114-106 win and will face the utah jazz in the western final

nba catch up the utah jazz got into the western conference final two nights ago with a 4 games to 1 series win over the golden state warriors. they will play wither the phoenix suns or san antonio spurs. the spurs can wrap up their series tomorrow. detroit is leading chicago near late in the 4th quarter and if they win the go to the eastern conference final and would play wither cleveland or new jersey. the last three series mentioned are 3-2 lead in games. update: detroit 95 chicago 85 detroit wins series 4-2. chicago battled and made this a series when they went down 3-0 in series

detroit in conference final with a 2-0 win in san jose, the red wings are in the conference finals against the anaheim ducks starting friday, while the senators and sabres start thursday. now we'll see whe the best teams really are.

sunday musings - a lot of them jimmie johnson won the crown royal presents the jim stewart 400 (i guess fans competed to put trheir name in the race) by beating out kyle busch. he is now the new second place driver after jeff burton finished dead last. pts leader is still leading. and dale earnhardt jr is now in the top 12 with a 13th place finish. the buffalo sabres are in the conference finals with a 5-4 win over the rangers and will face the ottawa senators. that'll be a good series. more musings at a later time.

an interesting saturday the race supposed to be for tonight in richmond was postponed to rain. it will be run tomorrow. in new jersey, the senators beat the devils 3-2 and will go to the conference finals against either buffalo or the rangers. while the pistons start round two by killing the bulls 95-69 to go one game up, and the rockets/jazz game is in progress. winner goes to play golden state. update: utah wins game 7 and series 4-3 with a 103-99 win. they start at home against golden state

a california day the anaheim ducks knocked out the vancouver canucks with a 2-1 win in 2ot to win the series in five games. they will face either san jose or detroit. they play game five saturday afternoon. meanwhile the golden state warriors knocked out the top seed dallas mavericks 4 games to 2 with a 111-86 win. thew will play either utah or houston. that seris will play game 7 saturday after utah tied the series with houston earlier tonight. the raptors and the nets play game 6 tomorrow with the nets up 3-2 in games.
