 These games were held in Rio de Janeiro Brazil from August 5 - 21. 207 nations and 11180 athletes participated. Refugee Olympic Athletes team debut, as well as Kosovo and South Sudan. United States wins gold 1000. Bahrain, Fiji, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kosovo, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Tajikistan and Vietnam, as well as a member of the independent Olympic Athlete team (Kuwait) won first gold. Karate, squash, golf, roller sports and rugby debuted here. United States won most gold (46) and most overall (121). Brazil won 7g, 6s, 6b for 19 total. Canada won 4g, 3s, 15b for 22 total.
