2012 (XXX Olympiad) games

 These games were held in London Great Britain from July 27 to August 12. 204 nations plus 2 independent Olympic athlete nations and 10518 athletes participated. Women's boxing added, making these games the first time every sport had female competitors. 85 nations won at least one medal. Netherlands Antilles (dissolved before the games) and South Sudan (recognized in 2015) were the two nations that had independent athletes. Tennis mixed doubles return for the first time since 1924. 32 world records fell. 7 nations won first medal: Bahrain, Botswana, Cyprus, Gabon, Grenada, Guatemala and Montenegro.
