2008 (XXIX Olympiad) games

 These games were held in Beijing China from August 8 to 24. 204 nations and 10899 athletes participated. 87 nations won at least one medal.  Serbia and Montenegro debuted as separate nations. Nepal, Marshall Islands and Tuvalu debuted. 125 Olympic records fell, including 37 world records. Mongolia and Panama won first ever golds. Afghanistan, Mauritius, Serbia, Sudan, Tajikistan and Togo won first medals. China won most golds at 48, along with 22s and 30b for 100 total. United States won most overall with 112 (36g, 39s, 37b).
