1920 (VII Olympiad)

 The 1920 summer games were held in Antwerp Belgium from August 14 to September 12 1920. 29 nations and 2626 athletes participated. 1916 games in Berlin Germany were cancelled due to WWI. Antwerp Belgium was chosen to host after the war. Hungary, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria and Ottoman Empire were barred from the Olympics for starting the war. The Olympic oath and Olympic flag were used for first time. Games had a week of winter sports. Figure skating retuned from 1908 and ice hockey was added.  Nedo Nadi win 5 gold's in fencing, Guilherme Paraense won Brazil first gold in sport shooting, and Paavo Nurmi won golds in 10000m, 8000m and team cross country and a silver in 5000m. United States won most golds (41) and most overall (95). Host Belgium had 14g, 11s, 11b for 36 total. The 14 golds were tied for 4th and 36 total was 4th overall. Canada won 3g, 3s, 3b for 9 total.
