the Minnesota Wild are in the central division final after beating St.Louis 4-1 in game six and the series four games to two. they will face the Chicago Black Hawks in the division final starting in Chicago. schedule to be determined later.

Ice hockey at the 1980 winter Olympics

 This tournament went from February 12-24, 1980. 12 teams played. The Olympic Fieldhouse and Olympic Arena hosted the games. Canada hockey team returns and finishes 6th. Tournament best remembered for the "miracle on ice" as the United States beat the Soviet Union before beating Finland to win gold. They had also beat Czechoslovakia and tied Sweden. Their roster fielded exclusively amateur players. The United States, as mentioned, won gold, Soviet Union the silver and Sweden the bronze. Next is the 1984 tournament in Sarajevo Yugoslavia (now Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦).
