 Yup, all begins boxing day, with Canada playing Switzerland to open, Latvia on the 28th, Norway on the 29th and Czech Republic on new years eve. All games start at 7pm Eastern Time 

 Watching a video on old baseball traditions. From scheduled double headers, scorecards, pitchers batting, day games (they still happen), wool uniforms, and pitchers throwing complete games. What other traditions do you remember?

 Opening weekend in the NFL is done. What stood out?  Saints lost, Seahawks won. Bears win high scoring game.  How about the CFL quadruple header Saturday?  Fun day there. I will throw in an old CFL stadium. Clarke Stadium.

 First the fun fact. Lee May hit the last ever home run at Crosley Field against Juan Marichal of the San Francisco Giants on June 24, 1970. Reds won 5-4.  Great labor Day weekend. Except for the rain yesterday. Montreal beat BC, Saskatchewan beat Winnipeg, Toronto beat Hamilton and Edmonton beat Calgary. 3-1 in my pickems. This weekend has Ottawa at Toronto at 11am, Saskatchewan at Winnipeg at 2pm, Calgary at Edmonton at 5pm and Montreal at BC at 8pm. All games on Saturday and all Prince Albert time.

The Phillies win this 4-3 with Robin Roberts getting his 22nd win. In the background is Yankee stadium where Rocky Marciano goes to 47-0 beating Ezzard Charles for the second time in three months and keeping his heavyweight championship.

 September has arrived. Fall and the first day of school is around the corner. Alberta and Saskatchewan became provinces on this day in 1905.  Wouldn't it be wild to live in Lloydminster?
