Round of 32 day 4 part 3

 United States beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 despite being down a player. Yikes . They will face Belgium in the round of 16.

Round of 32 day 4 part 2

 This went into extra time and Belgium wins 3-2 over Senegal. They will face either the United States or Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 16 on Monday at 6pm.

Canada Day 2026

 Happy Canada Day. Today, Canada turns 159. Enjoy the day, wherever you are.

Round of 32 day 3 and 4

 Yesterday France beat Sweden 3-0 and Mexico beat Ecuador 2-0. This morning England beat Congo 2-1 to advance. Sooooo.... France plays Paraguay on Saturday at 3pm, and Mexico plays England on Sunday at 6pm. This afternoon has Belgium vs Senegal at 2pm and USA vs Bosnia and Herzegovina at 6pm. Winners play each other.

Crazy month

 It's been a month.  Fortunate to have a roof over my head and something to eat. The world cup has kept me sane as well as the few friends that have checked in on me to see if I am okay.  Been doing okay.  I've had my moments, but doing okay. Not to mention t my left knee got infected a bit. Knee is way better now.

Round of 32 day 3 part one

 Norway has beaten Cote d'Ivoire 2-1 and will play Brazil in the round of 16 on Sunday at 2pm. That may be a good game. Stay tuned.

Round of 32 day 2 part two and three

 Both these games went to penalty kick. Both games were 1-1. Paraguay beats Germany 4-3 in penalties (disappointed) and Morocco beat Netherlands (3-2). Morocco plays Canada Saturday at 11am Prince Albert time.

Round of 32 day 2 part one

 Brazil beat Japan 2-1 to go to round of 16. They get the winner of Cote d'Ivoire or Norway. That game is tomorrow at 11. The round of 16 game is Sunday.

Round of 32 day 1

 Canada beat South Africa 1-0 to go to the round of 16 vs either Netherlands or Morocco. That game is at 7pm tomorrow. Also tomorrow has Germany vs Paraguay at 2pm and Brazil vs Japan at 11am. Canada plays again Saturday at 11am Prince Albert time.

Time to get g and h

 Group h had Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia play to a 0-9 tie and Spain beat 1-0. Group g had Belgium beat New Zealand 5-1 and Egypt 1 Iran 1. Group g had Belgium first and Egypt second and Iran third. Group had Spain first and Cape Verde finishing second and making the round of 32 in their first tournament. More round of 32 matchups has Germany vs Paraguay on Monday, France vs Sweden on Tuesday, Cote d'Ivoire vs Norway on Tuesday, Australia vs Egypt on Friday and Argentina vs Cape Verde on Friday. Stay tuned.

Group I

 France beat Norway 3-1 and will finish first in their group. Norway will finish second. Meanwhile Senegal beat Iraq 5-0 (Iraq spent most of the game short a player) and will finish 3rd. Groups g and h to come.

Groups d, e, f

 Yesterday had Cote d'Ivoire 2 Curacao 0, Ecuador 2 Germany 1, Netherlands 3 Tunisia 1, Japan 1 Sweden 1, Turkiye 3 United States 2, Australia 0 Paraguay 0. So, top two has: group d, USA first, Australia 2nd and Paraguay in a possible spot in third. Group e had Germany getting first and Cote d'Ivoire second with Ecuador getting a possible third place spot. Group f had Netherlands finish first, Japan second and Sweden possible spot finishing third. More round of 32 matchups has Morocco vs Netherlands on Monday, Brazil vs Japan on Monday and United States vs Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday. Stay tuned.

Let's finish off yesterday

 Yesterday had Morocco beat Haiti 4-2, Brazil beat Scotland 3-0, South Africa beat South Korea 1-0 and Mexico beat Czechia 3-0. Mexico, South Africa, Brazil and Morocco into the round of 32. Canada plays South Africa on Sunday at 1pm in Inglewood CA.

Match day 3 has begun

 Started with group b. Switzerland beat Canada 2-1 and Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Qatar 3-1. Switzerland takes the group, Canada gets second over Bosnia and Herzegovina on goals differential.  Up next at four is group c. Canada plays in the round of 32 on Sunday at 1pm

Let's finish match day 2

 England and Ghana played to a scoreless tie, Croatia beat Panama 1-0 and Colombia beat Congo 1-0. Today starts last match day. On no has Canada vs Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Qatar.

 Wow today is day 13. Let's finish off yesterday. France beat Iraq 3-0, Norway beat Senegal 3-2 ( looked like a good one) and Algeria beat Jordan 2-1. And to start day 13 Portugal beat Uzbekistan 5-0. England vs Ghana is at 2pm.

I missed....

 The official first day of summer, which was at 5:24 pm Prince Albert time.  Cloudy here now. Good chance of rain. It rained this morning. Alberta has been getting rain.

 Argentina beats Austria 2-0 and leads group j. Also put themselves in good shape to advance. Up next has France vs Iraq

Germany hangs on

 Wow Germany barely wins. They beat Ivory Coast 2-1, getting the winner in stoppage time. They also had two goals get called back due to fouls. Ecuador vs Curacao is at 6pm Prince Albert time 

Soccer catch up

 Yesterday had USA 2 Australia 0, Morocco 1 Scotland 0, Brazil 3 Haiti 0 and Paraguay 1 Turkiye 0. Today had Netherlands 5 Sweden 1. At 2pm has Germany vs Ivory Coast 

Canada in a walk

 Canada beat Qatar 6-0 in a statement game. They needed that. Setes up a first place showdown with Switzerland on the 24th. Also their first ever world cup win.  Also Mexico won 1-0 over South Korea.

Switzerland in a walk

 After a scoreless first half, Switzerland owned the second half - at least the last 15 minutes as they beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1. They lead group b. Up next is Canada vs Qatar in a huge group b game.

Beginning of matchday 2

 Started with Czechia and South Africa playing to a 1-1 tie. Czechia had the lead for over 70 minutes before South Africa tied it. Next up is Switzerland vs Bosnia and Herzegovina at 1pm.

Yesterdays other games

 Other 3 games had England 4 Croatia 2, Ghana 1 Panama 0 and Colombia 3 Uzbekistan 1 in Uzbekistan debut. Czechia vs South Africa to open today as well as the start of matchday 2. Canada plays Qatar at 4pm Prince Albert time today.

Catching up

 Some games of note.  Austria beat Jordan 3-1 in Jordan debut, France beat Senegal 3-1, Norway beat Iraq 4-1, Argentina 3 Algeria 0 (yesterday games), Iran and New Zealand tied 2-2 from Monday night and so far today Portugal and Congo tied 1-1. England vs Croatia about to start.

Tie this on

 Saudi Arabia and Uruguay played to a 1-1 draw. Does this feel like a surprise or is it just me. Last game of the night has Iran vs New Zealand.

All tied up

 Belgium and Egypt played to a 1-1 tie. Not much to say here.  Coming up has Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay.

Surprise

 Cape Verde made it's debut and played Spain to a scoreless draw. Wo, who saw that coming. Coming up is Belgium vs Egypt.

Sweden in a romp

 Sweden beat Tunisia 5-1 to round out day 4. No surprises today. Sweden leads group f.  Four games tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Hurricanes blow away Knights

 The Carolina Hurricanes are Stanley Cup Champions after beating Vegas 3-0 in game six and series 4-2. It's their second Stanley Cup. Congratulations.

Cote d'Ivoire at last minute

 Cote d'Ivoire scores in the 90th minute and wins 1-0 over Ecuador. Late game drama. Big for them. Chance got better to reach knockout round. Last game of the day is Sweden vs Tunisia.

Fit to be tied

 It was scoreless in the first half. By the end of the game Netherlands and Japan finish to a 2-2 tie. Pretty good second half. Coming up - Cote d'Ivoire vs Ecuador.

A no doubter

 Not much of a surprise as Germany beat Curacao 7-1 in the debut of Curacao. So there's the first game. Coming up is Netherlands vs Japan. 

An Aussie capper

 Australia wins the last game of the night, 2-0 over Turkiye. They now share the group d lead with the United States.  That's it for tonight.

Scottish victory

 Scotland hung on to beat Haiti 1-0 and leads group c with the win. Scotland first win since 1990 and first game since 1998, while it's Haiti first game since 1974. Next up has Australia vs Turkiye to finish group d.

Brazil vs Morocco

 This finished a 1-1 tie. Morocco opened the scoring on a great goal, followed by Brazil scoring a great goal of their own. Brazilian goalie made a couple key saves. Next up is Haiti vs Scotland to finish group c.

What a finish

 Switzerland had a 1-0 lead right until added time in the 90th minute. Qatar ties it in added time to eventually make the final 1-1. All four teams in Canada's group has a point. Coming up has Brazil vs Morocco in group c.

Day two finale

 The United States beat Paraguay 4-1 to start their world cup. Owned the first half, the second half was pretty even. So that's it for day two. Four games tomorrow. 

Canada opener

 Canada played its first game and played to a 1-1 tie vs Bosnia and Herzegovina.  First ever draw. Next game is the 18th vs Qatar.

Second game done

 South Korea 2 Czech Republic 1. Day one done. Canada plays Bosnia and Herzegovina tomorrow at 1pm Prince Albert time.

World cup has begun

 First game was Mexico vs South Africa and Mexico won 2-0. 16 years after both teams begun the 2010 edition, with that being a 1-1 tie. On now is South Korea vs Czech Republic.

Finn's golden

 Finland wins gold on overtime, beating Switzerland 1-0. Finlands 3rd gold in 7 years, and fifth overall. Switzerland gets silver, their fifth overall. Congratulations to Finland, this year's champions.

Norwegian surprise

 Norway takes bronze after beating Canada in overtime. It is their first ever medal. Canada finishes 4th. Just the gold game left.

Semi final Saturday.

 Canada suffered its first loss of the tournament, losing to Finland 4-2 in the semi final game that just ended. Earlier Switzerland beat Norway 6-0. It will be Switzerland vs Finland for gold and Canada vs Norway for bronze. Both games tomorrow.

Hurricanes blow away Habs

 This wasn't much of a series. Carolina knocks out Montreal in game 5 6-1 and series 4-1. Couple of games Montreal wasn't getting many shots. It will be Carolina vs Vegas for the Stanley Cup. Series I believe starts June 2.

Canada to semis

 Canada beat the United States 4-0 in the quarterfinals and will advance to the semi final. Opponent TBD. Semis are Saturday.

Knights cause Avalanche

 Wow this didn't take long. President's trophy curse lives on as Vegas knocks out Colorado in a 4 game sweep and is now in the Stanley Cup finals. Now they await the end of the Montreal vs Carolina series.

Canada wins another

 Canada wins its 6th game, beating Slovakia 5-1. Last game of the round robin is Tuesday vs Czech Republic. A win there should secure top spot in group B. Stay tuned 

Canada wins again

 Canada is now 5 for 5 after beating Slovenia 3-1. 14 points and leading the group. Next game is Sunday vs Slovakia.

Another for Canada - barely

 Boy Canada barely beat Norway, winning 6-5 in overtime.  11 points now. Next game is tomorrow vs Slovenia.

151st Preakness

 I finally got to watching this. Napoleon Solo won the 151st Preakness with a time of 1:58.69. Paco Lopez was winning jockey and Chad Summers winning trainer. Next up the Belmont Stakes on June 6. 

Mt St Helens

 At 8:32am on this day in 1980, Mt St Helens erupted. 57 people died in the eruption that buried stuff, cataclysmic lahars, forests blown away, Toutle river flowed with ash and trees, Spirit Lake boiled, and flora and fauna took years to recover. Here is a photo of eruption as it started. I don't remember the name of photographer.

Habs slay Sabres

 Overtime in game 7 because why not. Montreal wins it 3-2 to advance to the Eastern Conference finals starting Thursday against Carolina. Should be a good one.

Another Canada win

 Canada is 3-0 afternoon beating Denmark 5-1. So far so good. Canada's next game is Thursday vs Norway.

Canada wins again.

 Canada beat Italy 6-0 to go to 2-0 in the tournament. Next game is Monday vs Denmark.

Canada wins opener

 First day of the world hockey championships and Canada won their first game 5-3 over Sweden. Good test to start. Next game is tomorrow vs Italy.

Vegas finishes Duck hunt

 Wow Vegas beat Anaheim big time, 5-1 in game six and series 4-2. They will get Colorado next in the Western Conference finals.

Colorado buries Minnesota

 Crazy game 5. It was 3-0 Minnesota. Colorado ends up winning 4-3 in overtime to win series 4-1. Colorado gets either Vegas or Anaheim.

152nd Kentucky Derby

 Golden Tempo came back from the rear of the field to win the Kentucky Derby in a time of 2:02.27. Cherie Deveaux is the first female trainer to win. Jose Ortiz is winning jockey.

Knights eliminate Mammoth

 The Vegas Golden Knights just eliminated the Utah Mammoth in game 6 5-1 and will face the Anaheim Ducks in the next round. It's getting fun now.

Sabres slash Bruins

 After 14 years out, not only did Buffalo make the playoffs, they're into the second round after beating the Boston Bruins 4-1 in game 6 and the series 4-2. They will get either Tampa Bay or Montreal. That has a 7th game. 

Ice hockey at the 1992 winter Olympics

 Tournament was held from February 9-23 and 12 teams participated. Tournament was at the Meribel ice palace in Meribel, 45 minutes from Albertville. 46 games were played. First tournament to have a knockout round. Unified team wins gold (consisted of old Soviet Union republics). Canada wins silver - their first hockey medal since they won bronze in Grenoble France in 1968. Czechoslovakia won bronze. Next up is 1994.

Ducks cause Oilers slick

 Anaheim Ducks knocked out the Edmonton Oilers 5-2 in game 6 and win series 4-2. Somehow I'm not surprised. Anyways, Anaheim gets either Vegas or Utah.

The Wild dim some Stars.

 Wow. The Minnesota Wild just knocked out the Dallas Stars in game six, winning it 5-2 and the series 4-2. They get the Colorado Avalanche next. That I've a good series.

Flyers end Penguins

 The Flyers have eliminated the Penguins in game 6 to move onto the second round vs Carolina. Who's next?

Avalanche bury Kings

 Avalanche made this look easy to finish. They're into the second round after sweeping the Los Angeles Kings four straight. They would get either Minnesota or Dallas.

Hurricanes blow away Senators

 Carolina Hurricanes made this look easy, sweeping the Ottawa Senators 4 straight. Carolina will face either Pittsburgh or Philadelphia. Pittsburgh saved themselves tonight.

NCAA championship game

 The Michigan Wolverines are 2026 champions after beating UConn Huskies 69-63. It's their second championship. Congratulations to Michigan.

Semi final two

 Michigan beat Arizona 91-73 to get to Monday nights championship game vs UConn. It is their 8th championship championship game. Only championship win was 1989 (1-6 overall). Tip off 6:30pm Prince Albert time Monday night.

Semi final one

 It's UConn Huskies with the win over Illinois 71-62 and will play in their 8th championship game (Won all previous 7) and 9th time in final four (semi finalist in 2009). Up next has Arizona vs Michigan.

Add one more

 It's the Democratic Republic of Congo, beating Jamaica 1-0 to become the 47th nation to qualify for the world Cup. Iraq vs Bolivia to become the last team to qualify. Stay tuned.

Four more qualified

 Czechia, Sweden, Turkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina have all qualified for this year's world Cup. Czechia in group a, Bosnia and Herzegovina in group b, Turkiye in group d and Sweden in group f. Two inter conference games, one on now and the other at 9 pm Prince Albert time will end qualifying. Stay tuned.

Final four set

 Uconn just beat Duke 73-72 to reach the final four. They will play Illinois, who beat Iowa yesterday 71-59. Earlier today, Michigan beat Tennessee 74-69. They will play Arizona, who beat Purdue 79-64. Uconn v Illinois and Arizona v Michigan will play Saturday to play for the championship.

It's spring

 Spring began at 8:46 am Prince Albert time. It's definitely felt like it the past few days. Supposed to cool off starting this weekend. And some snow.

 This one went to overtime. #11 VCU beat #6 North Carolina 82-78. Will there be another tonight? Stay tuned.

Opening day produces first upset

 Didn't take long to get it. #12 High Point (where?) beat #5 Wisconsin 83-82. There may be more. Who knows when.

Happy St Patrick's Day

  Its the time of the year where everyone is Irish for the day. People wearing green, drinking green beer, or green juice, the Chicago River is green. Enjoy the day.

3 Paralympic tidbits

 Three tidbits. 1. Brazil won its first ever winter Paralympic medal in cross country skiing men's sprint. It was a silver by Cristian Ribiera. 2. Latvia also won its first ever winter Paralympic medal, it was a bronze in mixed doubles curling. Polina Rozkova and Agris Lasmans. 3. Canada was the first team to go undefeated in the wheelchair curling 4 team event. Mark Ideson, Jon Thurston, Ina Forrest, Collinda Joseph and alternate Gil Dash won gold here. There are your 3 Paralympic tidbits.

They're done

 The speeches have been made. Flame is out. Performances were made. The 2026 are officially finished. Another Olympic and Paralympic adventure is done. Canada finishes with 3g, 4s, 8b for 15 total. Next stops: Los Angeles for the 2028 summer games and French Alps for the 2030 winter Games.

Silver para hockey

 The United States beat Canada 6-2 for para hockey gold. Clearly the better team today. Canada finishes the Paralympics with 3g 4s 8b for 15 total. Coming up - the closing ceremony.

Bronzed skiers

 Kalle Ericsson and guide Sierra Smith have a bronze in slalom vision impaired. It's their 3rd medal. That is now 3g, 3s, 8b for 14 total. And one more to come in pata hockey.

Closing ceremony flag bearers

 The flag bearers will be Natalie Wilkie and Mark Ideson. Ideson found out after receiving his gold. Wilkie won 4 medals. Closing ceremony is tomorrow.

Two more

 First the bronze. Michaela Gosselin has a bronze in the standing slalom. This medal is also the 200th Paralympic medal. Now the gold. The wheelchair curling team beat China 4-3 to claim gold and go undefeated at the same time. So now that is 3g, 3s, 7b for 13 total.

Golden pursuit

 Natalie Wilkie has her FOURTH medal of the games, this one a gold in the sprint pursuit. That is now 2g, 3s, 6b for 11 total.

Two more

 Both bronze. First Brittany Hudek in the women's 10k cross country skiing. Second is Mark Arendz in the men's 10k cross country skiing. That is now 1g, 3s, 6b for 10 total.

Wilkie with a third medal

 Natalie Wilkie has her third medal of the games. It's a bronze in women's cross country sprint standing.  That is now 1g, 3s, 4b for 8 total. Yes!!!

Throw in a bronze

 Kalle Ericsson and guide Sierra Smith have another bronze (also their second), this one in the visually impaired super G downhill. That is 1g, 3s, 3b for 7 total.

2026 Montana's Brier champs are....

 .... Matt Dunstone of Manitoba. Him, Colton Lott, EJ Harnden, Ryan Harnden and alternate Jacob Horgn defeated Kevin Koe and his team 6-3 to win his first Brier. Dunstone will represent Canada at the men's worlds later in the month in Ogden City, Utah.  Congratulations.

A hat trick of them

 Three more medals. First the bronze. Tyler Turner wins it in the para snowboard cross. Next the gold. Natalie Wilkie wins it in the women's para biathlon individual. Now the silver. Mark Arendz wins it in the men's para biathlon individual. That is now 1g, 3s, 2b for 6 total.

And two more

 A silver and a bronze. The silver is from Natalie Wilkie in para biathlon and the bronze is from Kurt Oatway in para sit skiing. Yippee!! That is 2s, 1b for 3 total.

First medal is......

 .......a silver in men's downhill visually impaired. Kalle Ericsson and guide Sierra Smith have it. Great start. More to come.

The Paralympics are on

 The flame has been lit, speeches made, formalities are done. 55 nations at the ceremony. A pretty good opening ceremony today. 9 days of competition to begin. Canada with 50 athletes here. Let's go.

Paralympic flag bearers

 They are Tyler McGregor and Natalie Wilkie . McGregors 4th games and Wilkies 3rd. Opening ceremony is next Friday.

Closing ceremony

 The flame is out. Closing speeches made. Last medals handed out. Handover made. The winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina D'ampezzo are officially done. Next up the 2028 summer games followed by the 2030 winter Games in the French Alps.

Hockey silver

 The US wins gold in men's hockey, beating Canada 2-1 in overtime. That finishes competition with  5g, 7s, 9b for 21 total. Coming up are the closing ceremony.

Closing ceremony flag bearers are...

 ... Valerie Maltais and Steven Dubois. Both have won medals here. Congratulations to both.

Curling to gold

 The team of Brad Jacobs, Mark Kennedy, Brett Gallant, Ben Hebert and alternate Tyler Tardi has won men's curling gold, beating Great Britain 9-6. Yippee. That is now 5g, 6s, and 9b for 20 total. Yes!!

Speed skating to silver

 This in the women's mass start. It's Ivanie Blondin who gets the silver. That is now 4g, 6s and 9b for 19 total. We're finishing with over 20. 

Bronzed curlers

Hockey silver

 Canada way two minutes away from winning, until the US ties it at one. The US just won gold in overtime 2-1. Canada settles for silver. That's now 4g, 5s, 6b for 15 total.

Dubois golden

 Steven Dubois has just won gold in the men's 500m short track speed skating race. His second medal here and Canada's 4th. That's now 4g, 4s, 6 b for 14 total.

Bronzed relay

 The team of Courtney Sarault, Kim Boutin, Florence Brunell and Danae Blais has taken bronze in the short track 3000m relay. Woohoo. That is now 3g, 4s, 6b for 13 total. And more coming.

Golden pursuit

 The speed skating team of Valerie Maltais, Ivanie Blondin and Isabelle Weidman has Canada's third golf, beating the Netherlands in the pursuit final. That is now 3g, 4s, 5 b for 12 total. Yeeeees!!!!

Golden Oldham

 Meghan Oldham has a gold medal in freestyle skiing big air. This after some gusty and snowy conditions delayed it. That is now 2g, 4s and 5b for 11 total. Let's get more.

 Courtney Sarault now has a silver in her collection in the women's 1000m speed skating.  Now it's 1g, 4s and 5b for 10 total. Excellent 

Golden Kingsbury

 Yes, Canada has a gold and it's Mikael Kingsbury in moguls dual. Won it convincingly I think. That is now 1g, 3s, 5b for 9 total. Hopefully more.

Another bronze

 This to Laurent Dubreuil in the men's 500m. This after missing the podium by 0.03s in 2022. That is now 3s and 5b for 8 total.

Short track bronze

 This one to Courtney Sarault in the women's 500m. Came from behind to get the medal. That is now 3s and 4b for 7 total. 

Silver snow cross

 This silver goes to Eliot Grondin. Missed gold by 3/100th of a second. That is now 3s and 3b for 6 total.  Good day so far

Silver moguls

 Mikael Kingsbury has a silver in moguls. He was tied with an Australian for first. Tiebreaker was highest turns score (?) and the Aussie had it. That is now 2s and 3b.

Bronzed figure skaters

 Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier have a bronze in the ice dance part of figure skating.  Tessa's. That is now 1s and 3b for 4 total. Yippee!!!

Silver relay

 The mixed team of Courtney Sarault, Kim Boutin, Florence Brunell, Felix Roussel, William Dandjinou and Steven Dubois have a silver in the short track mixed relay race. That is now 1s and 2b for 3 total. Woohoo.

Bronzed slope style

 Meghan Oldham has Canada's second bronze, this one in snowboarding slopes style. Two bronze so far at these games.

Super Bowl LX

 It was Seattle Seahawks from the start. Took to the 4th quarter to get some touchdowns. Jason Myers had 5 field goals - a super Bowl record. Defense had 7 sacks and caused 5 turnovers. A complete game. The Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13 to win Super Bowl LX and their second ever one.  Congratulations to the Seahawks.

Bronzed Maltais

 Valerie Maltais has Canada's first medal, and it's bronze in the women's 3000m speed skating medal. Nice way to start.

We're officially underway

 The cauldron has been lit. Speeches have been made. The parade of nations were 92 nations long. The opening ceremony was pretty good, spread out through four locales.  The lighting of the cauldron was one of the neater ways of lighting.  The games have officially underway. Enjoy the next 16 days.

Two replacements + addition =....

 The two replacements are Victor Primeau and Skye Clarke, replacing Alexandre Duchaine and Olivia Asselin due to injuries to Duchaine and Asselin.  The addition is Olivia Bouffard-Nesbitt in cross country skiing.

Sweden world Juniors champions

 It got interesting the last three minutes of the game. Sweden wins 4-2 (empty better) to win for the first time since 2012. Wow. It was also the first time they played each other for gold. Czech Republic last gold was 2001. Its Sweden 3rd ever gold. Congratulations Sweden.

Canada wins bronze

 Pretty good game here. Canada wins the bronze, beating Finland 6-3 to win their 6th bronze. Coming up has Sweden vs Czech Republic for gold.

Semi final Sunday

 Czech Republic beat Canada 6-4 to play Sweden for gold. Sweden beat 4-3. This one went 8 rounds in the shoot out. Czech Republic played Canada very well tonight, giving Canada very little. Canada vs Finland for bronze is at 3:30 Prince Albert time, Czech Republic vs Sweden for gold at 7:30 Prince Albert time. Final day is near.

Quarter finals Friday

 Canada just finished knocking out Slovakia to the tune of 7-1. Yikes. They will play Czech Republic, who beat Switzerland 6-2. Sweden beat Latvia 6-3 and will face Finland, who beat the United States 4-3 in overtime. Sweden vs Finland at 3:30 Prince Albert time and Canada vs Czech Republic at 7:30 Prince Albert time. Both games on Sunday. Also Germany beat Denmark 8-4 to stay up in the top division. Denmark is relegated.
