the New York Rangers are in the second round after beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in overtime in game five and the series four games to one. all the Rangers wins were 2-1 wins. they will face either the Washington Capitals or New York Islanders in the division final.

Ice hockey at the 1980 winter Olympics

 This tournament went from February 12-24, 1980. 12 teams played. The Olympic Fieldhouse and Olympic Arena hosted the games. Canada hockey team returns and finishes 6th. Tournament best remembered for the "miracle on ice" as the United States beat the Soviet Union before beating Finland to win gold. They had also beat Czechoslovakia and tied Sweden. Their roster fielded exclusively amateur players. The United States, as mentioned, won gold, Soviet Union the silver and Sweden the bronze. Next is the 1984 tournament in Sarajevo Yugoslavia (now Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦).
