the new york yankees are world series champions for the 27th time with a 7-3 win in game 6 over the phillies. hideki matsui drove in 6 runs to secure the win ( 2 run homer, 2 run double and 2 run single. a triple short of the cycle). first world series in the new yankee stadium. first yankees world series win since 2000 when they beat the mets. andy pettite got the win. hideki matsui was named world series mvp. he went 8 for 13 at the plate, including the 3 hits and 6 rbi's tonight. congrats to the yankees.

That's over 57km in running. Wow. 6.  One podium sweep and it was France in men's BMX. Toris Daudet (gold), Sylvain Andre (silver) and Romain Mahieu (bronze) was on the podium. 7. United States and China tied for most gold (40). United States won most overall (40g, 44s, 42b) with 126. France had 16g, 26s, 22b for 64 total. Canada won 9g, 7s, 11b for 27 total. Coming up had the Paralympics.
