after a caution that brought a 13 minute red flag for ryan newmans crash, jamie mcmurray wins a wild finish under a green-white-checkered finish which had another crash starting after kurt busch got hit from behind. the wreck collected mark martin and jeff gordon. points leader jimmie johnson was ahead of the wreck and finished 6th increasing his lead to 186 pts over mark martin. jeff gordon is third 192 back. 7 races down 3 to go in the chase. next race is next sunday in texas and the dickies 500.

Dominica, St Lucia, Cape Verde, and Albania won first medal. Dominica, St Lucia, Botswana and Guatemala won first golds. Refugee Olympic Athletes team also won a medal. 3. 85 nations won a medal. 4. 32 Olympic records and 10 world records fell. 5.  Siffan Hassan won a bronze in 5000 and 10000 meter and a gold in marathon. That's over 57km in running. Wow. 6.  One podium sweep and it was France in men's BMX. Toris Daudet (gold), Sylvain Andre (silver) and Romain Mahieu (bronze) was on the podium. 7. United States and China tied for most gold (40). United States won most overall (40g, 44s, 42b) with 126. France had 16g, 26s, 22b for 64 total. Canada won 9g, 7s, 11b for 27 total. Coming up had the Paralympics.
