 This season had 18 teams and 80 games. Clarence Campbell retires as NHL president. John Ziegler is named president. All teams had to put names on backs of jerseys. Officials also put names on backs of their jerseys - until the 1994-95 season.  Mike Bossy sets rookie record with 53 goals (wins Calder trophy).  Boston sets record with 11 20 goal scorers.
