germany just knocked out england 4-1 and will go to the quarter finals and will face either argentina or mexico. turning point was a goal england had got disallowed after it hit the crossbar and came down over the line. after that germany took over. argentina and mexico is at 12:30.

update: agrentina 3 mexico 1 argentina will face germany on saturday.

Refugee Olympic Athletes team also won a medal. 3. 85 nations won a medal. 4. 32 Olympic records and 10 world records fell. 5.  Siffan Hassan won a bronze in 5000 and 10000 meter and a gold in marathon. That's over 57km in running. Wow. 6.  One podium sweep and it was France in men's BMX. Toris Daudet (gold), Sylvain Andre (silver) and Romain Mahieu (bronze) was on the podium. 7. United States and China tied for most gold (40). United States won most overall (40g, 44s, 42b) with 126. France had 16g, 26s, 22b for 64 total. Canada won 9g, 7s, 11b for 27 total. Coming up had the Paralympics.
