dodge/save mart 350 jeff gordon ended a slump going back to martinsvill last october with a win in sonoma today. the win gets him into the top ten in points (he's now 8th) and he, earlier this weekend, proposed to his girlfriend. points leader finished 10th and actually added his lead with matt kenseths 17th place finish to 101. kasey kahne is 3rd - 313 pts back. tony stewart is 7th, 422 back with a 28th place finish. hmmm cant richmond come soon enough lol. oh yeah, there were TWO red flags for cleanup after a couple of multi car crashes. next race is saturday night in daytona and the pepsi 400.

pocono 500 denny hamlin won AFTER having a tire blow out earlier in the race. whats amazing is that he didnt hit anything or tear up the car. tony stewart finished 3rd. remarkable for him with the shoulder injury. plus pocono helped him that the track is mostly straightaways. jimmie johnson finished 10th, but his lead is now down to 48, with matt kenseth finishing 5th. and a scary crash for jeff gordon with 11 to go. hit the safer barrier hard enough to scatter debris from the wall AND his car to throw out the red flag for 13 minutes. anyways theres pocono for ya. michigan next week.
