it's the annual hockey day in Canada. all Canadian teams are playing today 6 of the 7 will be aired on Hockey Night In Canada. Winnipeg vs Montreal already started and is scoreless so far. Edmonton is in Chicago at 5pm (not on HNIC), Ottawa @ Toronto, also at 5pm and Calgary @ Vancouver at 8pm (all times Edmonton time). updates as games become final. UPDATE 1: Winnipeg 3 Montreal 1. UPDATE 2: Edmonton 3 Chicago 1. UPDATE 3: Ottawa 6 Toronto 3. UPDATE 4: Vancouver 2 Calgary 1 (OT). that is it for another hockey day in Canada.

 These games were in Paris from July 26 to August 11. 206 nations and 10714 athletes participated. Highlights include:  1. Breakdance debuted here. 2. Final games under Thomas Bach. Dominica, St Lucia, Cape Verde, and Albania won first medal. Dominica, St Lucia, Botswana and Guatemala won first golds. Refugee Olympic Athletes team also won a medal. 3. 85 nations won a medal. 4. 32 Olympic records and 10 world records fell. 5.  Siffan Hassan won a bronze in 5000 and 10000 meter and a gold in marathon. That's over 57km in running. Wow. 6.  One podium sweep and it was France in men's BMX. Toris Daudet (gold), Sylvain Andre (silver) and Romain Mahieu (bronze) was on the podium. 7. United States and China tied for most gold (40). United States won most overall (40g, 44s, 42b) with 126. France had 16g, 26s, 22b for 64 total. Canada won 9g, 7s, 11b for 27 total. Coming up had the Paralympics.
