rays snag last wild card after red sox unravel

the tampa bay ray came back from seven runs down to beat the yankees 8-7 in extra innings.  that combined with boston losing 4-3 in baltimore (they were up a run going to the bottom of nine).  the rays had a month of september while boston won only 6 games.  the playoff matchups feature the rays vs the rangers and the yankees facing the tigers in the A.L.  in the N.L. it will be the cardinals vs phillies and brewers vs diamondbacks.  fun starts friday.
