a close finish at the aarons 499 jimmie johnson ,with a helpful push from dale earnhardt jr, won the aarons 499 by .002 over clint bowyer, while junior finished 4th, bowyer was 2nd and jeff gordon was third. johnson moved up to second in the points 5 points behind carl edwards, while junior moved to third in the points 19 behinde edwards.

Ice hockey at the 1980 winter Olympics

 This tournament went from February 12-24, 1980. 12 teams played. The Olympic Fieldhouse and Olympic Arena hosted the games. Canada hockey team returns and finishes 6th. Tournament best remembered for the "miracle on ice" as the United States beat the Soviet Union before beating Finland to win gold. They had also beat Czechoslovakia and tied Sweden. Their roster fielded exclusively amateur players. The United States, as mentioned, won gold, Soviet Union the silver and Sweden the bronze. Next is the 1984 tournament in Sarajevo Yugoslavia (now Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦).
