night one of baseball postseason

tonight began the road to the world series with the dodgers just beating the cardinals 5-3. earlier the phillies and rockies began the day with the phillies winning 5-2. the yankees, playing the first playoff game at the new yankee stadium, beat the twins 7-2. the twins yesterday beat the tigers in a one game playoff for the a.l. central. three more games tomorrow. this shall be fun

Ice hockey at the 1980 winter Olympics

 This tournament went from February 12-24, 1980. 12 teams played. The Olympic Fieldhouse and Olympic Arena hosted the games. Canada hockey team returns and finishes 6th. Tournament best remembered for the "miracle on ice" as the United States beat the Soviet Union before beating Finland to win gold. They had also beat Czechoslovakia and tied Sweden. Their roster fielded exclusively amateur players. The United States, as mentioned, won gold, Soviet Union the silver and Sweden the bronze. Next is the 1984 tournament in Sarajevo Yugoslavia (now Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦).
