an interesting saturday

the race supposed to be for tonight in richmond was postponed to rain. it will be run tomorrow. in new jersey, the senators beat the devils 3-2 and will go to the conference finals against either buffalo or the rangers. while the pistons start round two by killing the bulls 95-69 to go one game up, and the rockets/jazz game is in progress. winner goes to play golden state.

update: utah wins game 7 and series 4-3 with a 103-99 win. they start at home against golden state

 These games were in Paris from July 26 to August 11. 206 nations and 10714 athletes participated. Highlights include:  1. Breakdance debuted here. 2. Final games under Thomas Bach. Dominica, St Lucia, Cape Verde, and Albania won first medal. Dominica, St Lucia, Botswana and Guatemala won first golds. Refugee Olympic Athletes team also won a medal. 3. 85 nations won a medal. 4. 32 Olympic records and 10 world records fell. 5.  Siffan Hassan won a bronze in 5000 and 10000 meter and a gold in marathon. That's over 57km in running. Wow. 6.  One podium sweep and it was France in men's BMX. Toris Daudet (gold), Sylvain Andre (silver) and Romain Mahieu (bronze) was on the podium. 7. United States and China tied for most gold (40). United States won most overall (40g, 44s, 42b) with 126. France had 16g, 26s, 22b for 64 total. Canada won 9g, 7s, 11b for 27 total. Coming up had the Paralympics.
