jeff burton passes matt kenseth on the last lap to win the samsung 500. points leader finished 4th. jimmie johnson loses a cylander, crashes and ends up 38. dale earnhardt jr got involved in a crashed after getting rearended by kyle busch. he ended up 36. tony stewart spun twice (first one caused the rearending and having jimmie johnson bumping him) he was 25th so the two jeffs are 1-2 in the points. gordon leads burton by 8. next race is saturday in phoenix.

Dominica, St Lucia, Cape Verde, and Albania won first medal. Dominica, St Lucia, Botswana and Guatemala won first golds. Refugee Olympic Athletes team also won a medal. 3. 85 nations won a medal. 4. 32 Olympic records and 10 world records fell. 5.  Siffan Hassan won a bronze in 5000 and 10000 meter and a gold in marathon. That's over 57km in running. Wow. 6.  One podium sweep and it was France in men's BMX. Toris Daudet (gold), Sylvain Andre (silver) and Romain Mahieu (bronze) was on the podium. 7. United States and China tied for most gold (40). United States won most overall (40g, 44s, 42b) with 126. France had 16g, 26s, 22b for 64 total. Canada won 9g, 7s, 11b for 27 total. Coming up had the Paralympics.
