James Norris trophy is awarded for first time. Red Kelly of Detroit wins it. Harry Lumley has 13 shutouts, Terry Sawchuk has 12. Jean Beliveau makes his debut this season. Semi finals: Detroit 4 Toronto 1, Montreal 4 Boston 0. Stanley Cup: Detroit 4 Montreal 3. Montreal's Doug Harvey scores an own goal in overtime in game 7 to give Detroit the win. It's Detroit's 7th Stanley Cup.
