wow this is huge. Wayne Rooney put England up 1-0 on a penalty kick. two minutes later Iceland ties it. not long later Iceland took a 2-1 lead. Iceland battled to stay ahead and knocked out England 2-1 and will face France in the quarter finals on July 3rd. biggest English upset since the 1950 world cup when the United States beat them 1-0. so the quarters are set. at 4:34pm (about 40 minutes ago) we officially started summer. today is the longest day of the year in terms of daylight hours at over 17 hours. after today we slowly start losing those daylight hours. also the strawberry full moon happening. the moon will be lower in the horizon and ultimately a little bigger. last time the full moon happened on the first day of summer was in 1967. wow.

in their first Euro tournament game Wales pulls out a 2-1 victory over Slovakia in a bit of a chippy affair. Gareth Bale opened the scoring. this is also Wales first major tournament game since the 1958 world cup in Sweden. next up has England vs Russia at 1pm.

wow this was a tight one. Switzerland scored 5 minutes into the game and had to battle a determined Albania team that finished the game with 10 players. Jan Sommer made a couple of key stops as Swizterland beat Albania 1-0. the Swiss could have had two or three more goals, but couldn't put the ball away. next up has Wales vs Slovakia.

not a bad opener. France beat Romania 2-1. Romania battled and France looked tense. Dimitri Payet got the game winner for the hosts on a laser beam from outside the penalty area.
